Fleet Manager transforms into Global Mobility Architect

In the new corporate environment, characterised by connectivity, sharing, urbanisation, user-centricity, companies will manage total mobility for all employees, instead of just focusing on company cars for a specific group. Car policies will have turned into mobility plans, based on the personalised mobility profile of each employee. The Corporate Fleet Manager will have transformed into a Global Mobility Architect, who develops and executes the mobility strategy of the company, enables the mobility solutions offered by the company, and initiates the implementation and acceptance of the mobility strategy by employees and stakeholders.

More than ever, new players and start-ups are entering the automotive, vehicle fleet and mobility industry. Their agility, motivation, flexibility and often large financial means can be considered an inspiration – or a threat. But one thing is certain: they will change the balance in the international fleet and mobility community.

  • The Advantages of Embracing Disruption, by Graeme Banister, Consulting Director, Frost & Sullivan
11:35-12:30 The Strategy of Fleet Management & Leasing Suppliers in 2020

In line with the move from a car-centric to a user-centric approach, the success of car leasing and fleet management will have changed. It will have been accelerated by IFRS16 and the rise of new customer profiles such as public institutions and cities, and impacted by the popularity of sharing and other megatrends. Fleet Management Companies have become integrators of full or dedicated mobility services. As the financing aspect will become only marginally profitable, it will more than ever be about customer-related mobility services.
